Accommodation is an important consideration while you are living away from home. International students should make the accommodation arrangement before they leave the homeland. There is a wide variety of accommodation options in Singapore and the type of accommodation you choose will depend on your personal budget.
Ensuring that students living abroad can still feel at home, MDIS creates a dynamic environment for learning, living and meeting new friends from all over the world.
MDIS Residences Resident Committee (MRRC) was formed in January 2013 to encourage a spirit of comradeship and fellowship amongst residents of the MDIS Hostel. In 2014, the MRRC organised several activities; such as the Welcome Barbeque in May, where 120 students came together to meet, mingle and enjoy some good food.
As the MDIS Residences@Stirling sees itself as a home away from home for many students, the MRRC also held a Mid Autumn Festival Celebration in September 2014 for those who would normally be celebrating at home. The 119 students enjoyed feasting on delicious mooncakes in a myriad of flavours, taking part in games and admiring the full moon.
As a student, there are plenty opportunities to network with fellow classmates and other local and international students. The campus is filled with much excitement and students are provided the platform to pursue their passion from the many student interest groups catering to badminton, tennis, basketball, football and modern dance.
Besides sport-related interests, there are also many cultural and social activities to enhance bonding at MDIS.
Enjoy the MDIS experience and be a part of a dynamic community.
The Bell Wing is the place for an MDIS student to be before, between and after classes. Conveniently located on the ground floor of Block B (right under SAMTAS Hall), it is the perfect place to stop by in the mid-afternoon for a breather from the tropical heat.
Aside from the comfortable chairs and table scattered all around the place, the Wing also features a TV room with plush theatre-style seating and furnishings. This room can also be booked by any lecturer or student through the Membership Department for video screenings, movie nights and other such activities.
The Wing also features a dedicated game room that currently features a foosball (AKA “table soccer”) and pool table. Unlike the TV room, the games room cannot be booked, but is instead free for any student to come in and use any time they like.
Of course, like all good places to chill out in Singapore, the Bell Wing offers food as well in the form of the Brew and Bites café! Operated by the MDIS School of Tourism and Hospitality, Brew and Bites offers a large selection of food and drinks ranging from hand-crafted gourmet sandwiches and cakes to espressos, lattes and cappuccinos that are all brewed on the spot to perfection.
The Bell Wing is open from 8:30am to 12 midnight every day.
